OCA's mission is to provide leadership and support for arts organizations and individual artists, improving the quality of life for San Antonio Citizens and visitors alike. Our vision is to be the recognized public agency leading the San Antonio creative environment. OCA supports arts and culture in the community through programs tailored to help arts and cultural organizations, individual artists, community groups and the tourism industry.
OCA has three main divisions:
The Funding Division: The Office of Cultural Affairs provides financial support to San Antonio eligible nonprofit arts and cultural organizations to support programs and projects that further artistic excellence and foster increased, diverse public participation and awareness of the arts in San Antonio. The Cultural Collaborative Division: The Cultural Collaborative (TCC) is San Antonio’s ten-year plan to support the growth and recognition of San Antonio’s creative economy. The Cultural Collaborative Division oversees the implementation of San Antonio’s Cultural Plan and manages special arts and cultural projects which foster the growth of San Antonio’s creative economy. Public Art San Antonio (PASA): This division is responsible for planning and management of the City’s public art program, policies and commissioned projects. Through community outreach, exhibitions and educational workshops, PASA is committed to building and sustaining a strong relationship between public art projects and the citizens of San Antonio.
